The Health Services Group at Deloitte includes more than 100 seasoned professionals across Canada who understand our clients' challenges and specialize in serving all segments of the Canadian health system. We are looking to add to our successful practice and are seeking an experienced Manager to join our team.
Key Role & Responsibilities:
Role would be focused on providing technical project management direction for small projects or leading specific workpackages
  • Prepare detailed project work plans and project status reports.
  • Guide and contribute to the development of e-health project deliverables.
  • Provide specialized technical knowledge on a wide variety of eHealth projects as required (e.g. health system interfaces, health system architectures, health system selection, eHealth strategy development for electronic health records, clinical systems implementations, clinical process transformation, etc.)
  • Apply a wide range of consulting tools to client situations. Conduct consultations with stakeholders including physicians and clinicians.
  • Analyze client data to support engagement.
  • Develop proposals and participate in sales/business development efforts within the healthcare sector.
  • Contribute to knowledge management within our healthcare practice.
As a Senior Consultant you will:
  • Work in a collaborative team analyzing client issues and developing solutions
  • Author presentations and present findings to clients
  • Supervise junior staff and manage parts of client engagements
  • Prioritize objectives and contribute to project planning and status reporting

Required Experience and Educational Background:

  • 4-5 years working in a project environment with demonstrated experience leading specific workpackages
  • 4-5 years minimum working within the healthcare sector, either as a senior technical professional (ideally with 1-3 years as a technical architect) or a health information systems/health informatics professional.
  • Graduate studies in a relevant discipline (e.g. computer science or engineering, health professional, health informatics, health systems administration) preferred.
  • Experience with information management, electronic health records and/or health information technology within a healthcare setting.
  • Working with interdisciplinary groups and teams, including physicians and other allied health professionals.
  • People management experience.

· Business development experience an asset, but not required.

· Interest in pursuing PMP certification would be an asset

Required Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience with project management methodologies
  • Experience with clinical system implementations (technology and business elements)
  • Experience with health industry standards (e.g. Health Level 7)
  • Experience with one or more SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience as a lead technical professional in one or more of a strategy project, application development project, or a system implementation engagement.
  • Business project management experience will be considered, such as business transformations, change management programs, process improvement projects, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge/experience with Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project required.
  • Experience with analysis of business processes in a clinical setting, re-engineering of processes and linking process to patient care objectives.
  • Proven knowledge transfer/training skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills: both written and verbal are required.


Other Required Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving skills - ability to take a process perspective in solving problems.
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare environment and specific challenges and issues.
  • Willingness to travel.
